About Us

The Gunflint Mercantile is a very special place located in scenic Grand Marais Minnesota.  As the door swings open, the Northwoods scent of a turn-of-the century mercantile is both pleasing and refreshing. The shelves are filled with dry soup mixes, pasta, beans and retro candy, grourmet coffee, syrups, rams, gifts, and much more.

The coffee lover’s eyes naturally perk up with the amazing selection of fine coffees. Many have found it difficult to choose which of the refreshing and hearty blends to take home.  For those having difficulty choosing, we offer a few flavors by-the-cup as well.

The jars tasty soups, and thick pancake batters lining the shelves show stiff competition to the scrumptious hand-made candies and fudge made fresh in the back area of the store.  

Gunflint Mercantile is a flavorful step back in time. Whether you need to cool off from the summer’s heat with an ice cream cone or warm your body with a steaming cup of Joe you are certain to find the Mercantile a fun, relaxing, and memorable experience.
